英国人女性と日本人男性の二人組みのデュオ
アンビエントでオーガニックなエレクトロニカ音楽
ダーク系の歌詞を含めたトリップホップ
2003年よりfreesscape(フリースケープ Emi Evans
Hiroyuki Muneta) は東京を拠点にユニークなアンビエント
と聴き手の心を捉える音楽の世界をクリエイトしている。
スタート当初は試行錯誤の連続であった彼らだが、各々の
音楽キャリアを積み重ねる中で自らのスタイルを模索。
既存のシーンにとらわれる事なく、エレクトロミュージック
の新たな可能性を追求。
音楽的かつ芸術的な美を追求するそのサウンドからは、
2人の異なるテイストがクロスオーバーした新たな一面が色
濃く映し出されており、東京の音楽シーンの中でもとりわけ
草分け的存在と言えるだろう。
freesscapeのこれまで...
2001年4月 Emiのデモテープを手にしたHiroは共通の知人を通じてEmiと出会う。
意気投合し前身Morphic(モーフィック)を結成し、都内数カ所でライブ活動を始める。
2002年1月 二人は初のデモテープ「Little miss Emily」を制作。
後にこの音源が廣木隆一監督の2003年公開の映画「ヴァイブレータ」の挿入歌に起用される。
2002年10月 渋谷in the cityに出演し空気の違いを感じてしまう。
2002年10月 札幌 MIX2002に出演し3公演を行う。
2003年3月 デモ音源「Stretch」「Mirage」「Demonding」を録音する。
2003年5月 二人は前身バンドであるMorphicを脱退する。
2003年6月 freesscapeを結成し作曲活動を始める。
2003年10月 「Fragile Perfection」制作開始
2004年7月 アルバム「Fragile Perfection 」(壊れやすい完全）発表
2005年7月 渋谷Asiaで初ライブを企画する
2005年11月 横浜こどもの国でチャリティーイベント参加
2006年5月 シングル「Detour」発表
2006年12月 ライブにMorgan Fisherが観に来て運命的な出会いをする。
2007年3月 横浜タイヤ(ヨーロッパ)CMタイアップ曲にStretch(Fragile Perfection)起用
2007年6月 プロギアゴルフウェアＣＭタイアップ曲にMomentary(Fragile Perfection)起用
2007年8月 Tokyo METROPOLIS ジャパンビートにインタビュー記事が掲載。
2007年9月 カルティエの"Ballon Bleu"イベントにライブ出演。
2007年9月 2nd アルバム「The Next Confusion」(次の困惑）
ゲストミュージシャンにMorgan Fsherを迎えて発表。共にリリースライブを行う。
2007年9月 木曽鼓動に出演。
2007年11月 香港のバンクリーフアーベルの"L`Atlantide" イベントにライブ出演。
2008年2月「Next Confusion」Music Video制作
2008年5月 シングル「Boucing」発表
2008年8月〜2009年2月 メナードの企業CMのタイアップ曲にMomentary(CM Version)起用
2009年3月〜新作レコーディング開始
2009年7月 熊本県 西川印刷の企業CMにEmiが出演タイアップ曲に「Picture Frame」起用
This duo was formed in 2003 by singer, songwriter
and cellist Emi Evans and multi instrumentalist,
composer and arranger Hiroyuki Muneta.
Employing a slightly elusive style of UK chill out,
soaring melodies and sensitive vocals,
freesscape now operate under their own label,
freesscape music where they are creating hard to
promote emotionally honest, uninhibited music.
